This week we kick off with the new single from Japanese noiseniks Boris. We also touch pop, 8-bit digital dancehall, rock, hiphop and jazz on the show, including new tracks from Massicot, Circle, Ennanga Vision, and Dent May.

#26 – Bo Ningen, Teeth of the Sea, The Bug, Dent May

Well this week’s podcast took some putting together. Both Gareth and Anthony aren’t in the usually professional mood that makes the Independent Music Podcast such an example of top quality broadcasting, but it doesn’t stop the banter – or the tunes – although that may be entirely down to Dent May, whose ability to polarise opinion comes out again. Elsewhere we make the case for guitar music, have a little more library music and some one-handed flute.

Tracklisting
1.Elephant – Ghost Eyes (self-release, UK)
2.Koroshitai Kimochi – Bo Ningen (Stolen Recordings, UK)
3.Aeolian Flute – Bird Radio (Strike Force Entertainment, UK)

7.You’re Mercury – Teeth of the Sea (Rocket Recordings, UK)
8.That feeling – Dent May (Forest Family Records, USA)
9.Poison Dart (feat. Warrior Queen) – The Bug (Ninja Tune, UK)
10.Everybody is Running Away – Blackfeet (self-release, UK)

#18 – Venetian Snares, Fostercare, Forest Swords, Dent May

After two weeks of DJ mixes, Gareth and Anthony come back together to talk nonsense and put across the best independent music releases out this week. An electronic opening gets fused with orchestral scores, disco pop and what we’re led to believe is ‘chillwave’ – but is just fantastic.

Tracklisting
1.My So Called Life – Venetian Snares (Planet Mu, UK)
2.Anytime – Fostercare (Clan Destine Records, UK)
3.International Dreambeat – Adebisi Shank (The Richter Collective, UK)
4.Raptor – The Horn The Hunt (White Label Music, UK)
5.Eastover Wives – Dent May (Forest Family Records, USA)
6.Silent Spring – My First Tooth (Alcopop! Records, UK)
7.Anything – Chad Valley (Maman Records, France)
8.I Like Triangles – Hounds of Hate (Back Yard Recordings, UK)
9.Rattling cage – Forest Swords (No Pain In Pop, UK)
10.Crack Witches – Master Suspiria Vision (Robot Elephant Records, UK)

#11 – The Advisory Circle, Wolf Parade, Alien Radio, Thee Oh Sees

Gareth’s on his own this week, which is pretty coincidental given that there’s a resurgence of library music getting a release this week. It’s less fashionable than usual but more interesting, with music ranging from South African electro to dubstep to a first play from the new Dent May album. Weird and wonderful personified

Tracklisting
1.Khulumani – Nkata Mawewe (Honest Jon’s Records, UK)
2.Cloud Shadow on the Mountain – Wolf Parade (Sub Pop Records, USA)
3.Gedanke und Ahnung – Alien Radio ((K-RAA-K)³, Belgium)

11.Artifice – Shit Browne (Asphalt Duchess, France)
12.Warm Slime – Thee Oh Sees (In The Red Recordings, USA)
