#168 – Best of 2017 (part three)

The final show of 2017 showcases just how fantastic the year has been for UK labels. Nine of the final ten tracks of our best of are from UK record labels, covering rock, metal, italo-disco, jazz, dub, techno and a whole host of good stuff. We also have Japanese afrobeat just to mix it up. Thank you to all our listeners for a great year, we’ll be back early in 2018.

As the summer limps to a wet close (and wet clothes for those still braving festivals), the Independent Music Podcast continues to warm the cockles. This week we bring back Independent Band RIP – the feature where we play a track from an artist no longer with us. With RL Burnside having died five years ago this week, it’s only right we highlight his genius. Elsewhere, it’s another wildly different week – garage to ambient to weird noises – it’s just another IMP.
