The most wonderful time of the year! Gareth and Anthony dig through a fabulous year of music to bring you three episodes of great, perhaps forgotten music that has come out this year. Well get stuck in to the first of our retrospectives

It’s very heavy, mixed with the usual weird and wonderful sounds familiar to the Independent Music Podcast. Elsewhere in the hour we’ve got the latest from two regularly featured labels – Awesome Tapes From Africa and Rocket recordings – we’ve also got avant-garde oddness from Trunk records in the shape of Bruce Lacey, Blaxploitation Bollywood, a rare track from Crystal Mansion and a dub rework of the magnificent Paradise Bangkok Molam International Band.

#26 – Bo Ningen, Teeth of the Sea, The Bug, Dent May

Well this week’s podcast took some putting together. Both Gareth and Anthony aren’t in the usually professional mood that makes the Independent Music Podcast such an example of top quality broadcasting, but it doesn’t stop the banter – or the tunes – although that may be entirely down to Dent May, whose ability to polarise opinion comes out again. Elsewhere we make the case for guitar music, have a little more library music and some one-handed flute.

2.Koroshitai Kimochi – Bo Ningen (Stolen Recordings, UK)
3.Aeolian Flute – Bird Radio (Strike Force Entertainment, UK)

10.Everybody is Running Away – Blackfeet (self-release, UK)

#13 – Salem, Ace Bushy Striptease, Mahjongg, Gnod
