After a few weeks of studio upheaval, our first episode in our new space is here – and it’s a bit of an abstract one. With fragmented samples of 78rpm records from a French library to Glaswegian dubstep, via violin experiments and Afghan folk music, we have the whole set of what’s good and great in contemporary independent music.

Back on usual business this week with a wide mix of cracking new independent releases. We have two submissions, one cut of ambient disco from ZuZed, and another slice of psychedelia from Melody Fields. Elsewhere we kick off with a blistering track off the forthcoming Thee Oh Sees record, we also have a long-awaited new track from Factory Floor, Japanese rock from Qujaku, reissued Ethiopian goodness from Hailu Mergia, the latest single from Flamingods, and more old reissued music from Sofrito and remixes from Nice Up! Gareth and Anthony are focused on brand new music this week, with nine of the ten tracks either new or unreleased.
